The 12th Microwave & Radar Week
18-21 May 2026, Kraków, Poland
About the Conference
Welcome to Microwave and Radar Week 2026 – MRW2026
We are honored and pleased to welcome you to the 12th International Microwave and Radar Week (MRW), a leading biennial event in Central Europe, which will take place in Kraków between May 18th and 21st, 2026.
History comes full circle again; every decade, Kraków hosts a microwave and radar conference, firstly the International Microwave and Radar Conference MIKON which was and still is a kernel of the MRW and, since 2004, Microwave Radar Week. MIKON started in 1969 when the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) lunched the first conference where the novel achievements in microwaves, antennas, and radars were presented and discussed. Since that time, the conference has been ongoing. MIKON survived tough times, such as geopolitical changes in Poland and Europe and, recently, the COVID-19 pandemic and war in the Ukraine. During all these times, the conference was supported by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE (MTT and AP Societies). Since 2002, it has also been technically co-sponsored by the European Microwave Association (EuMA) and the European GAAS Association.
The main partners of that first Week were the International Radar Symposium IRS’04 (established in 1998 by the German radar community, in 2004 for the first time held outside Germany) and the 17th International Conference on Electromagnetic Fields and Materials EMFM’04 (since the 1970s organized by the former Soviet Union countries). Successive MRWs also included other conferences like the International Conference Mixed Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems MIXDES, Baltic URSI Symposium, or Signal Processing Symposium, but only IRS has become a regular partner.
The first three MRW editions were organized by the Telecommunications Research Institute (PIT) and held in Warsaw (2004), Kraków (2006), and Wrocław (2008); the fourth Week in 2010 crossed the borders of Poland and was held in Vilnius, Lithuania. The following editions of the MRW were run in Poland – Warsaw (2012), Gdańsk (2014), Kraków (2016), Poznań (2018), Warsaw (2020), Wrocław (2024), and now it again will be in the king city of Kraków.
Since 2016, the Microwave and Radiolocation Foundation MIKON (established in 2015) and leading technical universities have co-organized the MRWs, but PITRADWAR SA has become their strategic partner.
We look forward to welcoming you cordially to Microwave and Radar Week 2026.

About Kraków
Kraków awaits!
Kraków is a city in southern Poland, situated on the Vistula River. It is the second-largest city in the country in terms of both population and area. As an ancient royal city, Kraków is a powerful symbol of Polish national identity. With its enchanting scenery and wealth of historical landmarks from various eras, it reflects the thousand-year history of the Polish nation.
In Kraków, you can admire a diverse range of architectural styles, from unique Romanesque structures to monumental Gothic buildings, as well as masterpieces created by some of the most outstanding architects of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The city has long been a center of Polish culture and scientific achievement.
